these wasted blues, these wasted blues

Big teenage crush on Marianne Faithful at the moment.

Big teenage crush on Marianne Faithful at the moment.

Day 1

A selfish act: I went to brunch with a dear friend, discovered a new restaurant, ate my FULL plate without feeling guilty

A thing I learned: I learned what a “century” is in cycling terms: a ride of 100 miles (ONE HUNDRED MILES!)

the “ME” project.

(get it? it’s a lousy play on words/my initials)

Didn’t want to call it a “happiness project”, because of previous associations. and because it’s not necessarily about happiness. It’s not necessarily about self-discovery either, because that part is inevitable anyways. It’s about consciously doing/making/learning something (some things) everyday and making a record of it. Not sure if they’re going to be earth-shattering things. They might even be very quotidian. But they will matter to me. This may be a “revenge” project (revenge might be too strong). Prompted by J’s very selfish trip abroad (happening this month, hence the timing of this project). I want to be selfish too. Maybe it should be titled the “selfish project”.

Quebecois sayings that don’t really translate well…

  1. Mettre son chapelet sur la corde à linge… Put your rosary out on your clothes line?
  2. C’est toute une autre paire de manches… It’s a whole other pair of sleeves
